Capacitor Banks

Medium/High Voltage

FT2000 Series

Automatic M.V. and H.V. Tuned Filter (5, 7, 15, 25 kV)

The FT2000 series harmonic filter bank is designed to provide power factor correction to those modern industrial networks with harmonics and which would otherwise damage standard fixed or automatic capacitor banks. The FT2000 series is designed to efficiently filter up to 80% of the 5th, 7th, 11th and 13th harmonics. The resonant filter capacitor bank comprises specially designed iron core reactors linked in series with the three-phase capacitor sets. The purpose of the combination of capacitors and reactors is to assign the battery to the first dominant harmonic (usually the 5th, at 300 Hz). Like the typical three-phase networks that have little to no harmonic current to filter, such as the 5th, 7th, 11th and 13th harmonics, these harmonic frequencies are most commonly targeted for filtration.
