FT200 Series

5th, 7th, 11th and 13th Tuned Harmonic Filter

The FT200 series is a tuned automatic filter, and is a series resonance circuit equipped with a reactor and a capacitor. Therefore, at the 60 Hz basic frequency, the capacitors produce the reactive power required to correct the network’s power factor. The inductance in turn forms a resonant circuit with zero impedance at the selected harmonic frequencies. This ensures maximum filtration of the network’s harmonics, such as the 5th, 7th, 11th and 13th harmonics.

The FT200 series’ harmonic filters are built in single shell enclosures, are floor mounted and are provided with enough ventilation to cool the components. Each branch of the filter is composed of a capacitor and reactor complete with thermal detection should the windings reach a high temperature, switch, fuse, blown fuse detectors and capacitors for the application’s required voltage.
